Gamezone is an embedded games library powered by the Gamezop partnership. When enabled, employees see a Games section in their Empuls navigation where they can browse a catalog of casual games by category, play in a sandboxed iframe, and pick up where they left off via a “Recently played” row. Use Gamezone as a low-effort engagement layer — a break-room feature that lives alongside recognition and surveys. Most of the Gamezone experience is end-user facing. As an admin, your role is to enable the module and control where it appears in the navigation. Browse the catalog the same way employees do at https://<your-empuls-url>/home/gamezone.

Before you start

  • You must be a Super Admin.
  • Gamezone is a licensed add-on. If you don’t see the toggle in your settings, contact cs@xoxoday.com to check that it’s enabled on your plan.
  • Games are served by Gamezop in a sandboxed iframe. No personally identifiable employee data is shared with the games — Empuls only tracks which game each user has played.

Enable Gamezone for your organization

1

Open the access role matrix

Navigate to Admin Hub → Manage Access Roles (see Access control).
2

Find the Gamezone menu

In the permission matrix, locate the Gamezone menu row.
3

Enable for the relevant roles

Check the box for each access role that should see Gamezone in their navigation. To make it visible to every employee, enable it for the User role.
4

Save

Save the matrix. Users see the Games entry in their menu on next reload.

What employees see

The Gamezone employee experience includes:
  • Banner — Promotional banner at the top of the Games landing page.
  • Recently played — Quick access to games the employee played most recently.
  • Categories — Horizontal rows of games grouped by category (Featured first, then alphabetical: Arcade, Puzzle, Sports, etc.).
  • See all — A category-level grid view that shows every game in a single category.
  • Game player — Each game launches in an in-app modal iframe; closing the modal returns the employee to the catalog.
  • Languages — Game metadata is available in multiple languages; the catalog adapts to the employee’s language preference.
See Gamezone (employee) for the full employee walkthrough.

What admins do not configure

Gamezone uses a curated catalog supplied by Gamezop. The following are not admin-configurable from Empuls:
  • The list of games available — you can’t add or remove individual titles.
  • Category names — categories come from the Gamezop taxonomy.
  • Per-game point rewards — Gamezone is a free-play module; it does not award reward points by default.
  • Per-team leaderboards.
If you need a points-tied or competitive engagement experience, look at Leaderboards or Fitness challenges instead — those are first-party programs with point rewards.

Reporting

Engagement reports for Gamezone — most-played games, active players, time-on-feature — are surfaced in the standard admin reports. There’s no Gamezone-specific dashboard.

Limits and gotchas

  • Gamezone runs in an iframe sandbox. Some games may not load behind strict corporate network policies that block third-party iframes.
  • Game content is rated for general audiences. If your organization needs additional content controls, disable Gamezone via the access role matrix.
  • Recently-played history is per-user and not shared across devices for users who clear browser storage between sessions, though the server-side fetchRecentlyPlayedGames call preserves history across reloads.
